Thank you for checking out my website.

I’ve been writing for several years now, though my productivity (and creativity) comes in spurts. Like many indies, most of my books have trouble deciding their genres (on purpose).

Take the Dakota Kekoa series for instance, it’s high fantasy in a contemporary alternate-world with a fiercely hierarchical draconic monarchy. It also has a touch of retelling to it as well, as I originally (very loosely) based the story on Pride and Prejudice.

My paranormal series, The Deception Dance, takes place midst a biblical apocalypse, so it’s a tad bit horror and a smidge dystopian – while at the same time also being travel fiction.

My upcoming Beauty and the Best retelling, Ensnared, is sci-fi, but if my research-based predictions are correct by the time it hits the shelves in December 2017 robots and AI might already be integrating in our daily lives, so it might just be contemporary (only the future will tell). [The e-book version will likely release much earlier, the date is not yet set]

Even the contemporary romance I wrote for fun (and fans), Making Bad Choices, has been accused of straying from its genre NA Romance.

The last series I have, The Fourteen Day Soul Detox, might be able to fit into the blanket category of ‘Women’s Fiction’, it has romance, friends and family drama, and a touch of suspense to it as well. Many have commented on my choice to have the daughter in this story be autistic and my choice was an easy one: I’ve never been the parent of a neuro-typical child before, so having Sarah be neuro-unique was the natural choice for me.

So, yeah, like me, my books tend to wander about.

As it says in my 'official bio', I live in beautiful, wild Northern California, about six hours north of San Francisco (driving). Many people don’t know that there is such a place, which makes this whole area a little like another in-between realm.

Just look at it:

Yep, I live there.

I live with my husband, son and dog, Stewie. All four of us really love camping, hiking, going to the beach, and (except for Stewie) kayaking, so we’re in a great area for it. Mostly, though, I just hang out with my family in our beautiful and quirky town. We hit the road as often as possible to visit our family who have spread across the length of the West Coast.

So yeah, that’s me. Here’s my son:

And, this is Stewie.
